We already reported the news that Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 became the best selling smartphone in the Indian market. While it still gets sold like hotcakes, the company went on to thinking about the predecessor, Redmi Note 5.
Some tech websites already published leak details about it. Now the information on Note 5A variant surfaced on the web. Let’s have a look at the speculated features.
Xiaomi might Launch Redmi Note 5A on August 22
Once you look at the specifications of the Note 5A variant, you will understand that it is inferior to Note 5. The smartphone reportedly features a 5.5-inches display. Nonetheless, it might only sport a 720p HD screen, on the contrary to the speculated full HD resolution on Note 5.
Redmi Note 4 came with Snapdragon 625 chipset underneath the hood. And, we hope Xiaomi will upgrade the processing power to either 630 or 660. Whatever they do, Note 5A may get a lower end chipset, most probably a 425 SoC, coupled with 2GB RAM.
When it comes to the camera, it doesn’t seem like Xiaomi will be making a lot of compromises. The front shooter may sport a 13 MP sensor whereas the front features a 5 MP sensor. Chances are less for them to opt for a dual camera setup.
Redmi Note 5A will run on MIUI 9 on top of Android 7.1.1 Nougat. Despite the 16 GB memory, you will be getting storage expansion via memory card. We expect the company to add a hybrid SIM slot into the device. Xiaomi doesn’t hold the red mark of having a mediocre battery in any of the smartphones released recently. The tech enthusiasts believe they will follow the tradition and opt for a 3300 mAh battery.
The price is supposed to be at Rs. 9600 (take it with a pinch of salt because there will be some differences). The smartphone becomes available for the public from August 22.
