Earlier this month, HMD Global sent out event invites to various publication houses. The company, now, has confirmed the launch of Nokia smartphones in this event happening in New Delhi.
The much-awaited launch will now be happening. The event is going to happen on June 13 where Nokia will be rolling out a series of smartphones for the Indian consumers. Although they have not specifically mentioned the smartphones that are going to be launched, it is expected that they will bring in Nokia 3,5 and 6 in the Indian market. These phones were already announced at MWC 2017 but were awaiting to launch in India.
The budget smartphone, Nokia 3 is expected to be priced at Rs 9,000 and Nokia 5 at Rs 12,000 while the high-end among the three, Nokia 6 will cost somewhere between Rs 15,000 and Rs 16,000.
The phone comes with a 5.5-Inch Full HD display along with 2.5D curved glass over it. It also offers the Corning Gorilla Glass, for additional protection. The smartphone is powered by Snapdragon 430 chipset and is backed by 3GB RAM along with 32GB internal storage further expandable up to 128GB using a microSD card. It also features a 16 MP primary camera along with an 8 MP selfie shooter. It will run on Android Nougat 7.1 and will come with a fingerprint sensor. Over that, the 3,000 mAh battery present can keep it running all day long.
On the other hand, Nokia 5 comes with a 5.2 Inch HD display. The smartphone is powered by Snapdragon 430 chipset coupled with 2GB of RAM and 16GB internal storage further expandable up to 128GB using a microSD card. It comes with a 13 MP primary camera along with an 8 MP selfie shooter. Just like Nokia 6, it has a 3,000 mAh big battery and a fingerprint sensor. This phone too, will run on Android Nougat 7.1.
This will be an entry-level smartphone sporting a 5 Inch HD display along with a MediaTek MT6737 chipset. It is backed by 2GB RAM and 16GB internet storage further expandable up to 128GB using a microSD card. The front and rear camera both are of 8 MP offering decent picture quality. However, this one lacks a fingerprint sensor and will have only a 2,650 mAh battery.
Although there are a lot better competitors out there at this price range, these smartphones by Nokia are unique on their own. After all, it’s Nokia!
