On the occasion of its third anniversary, Xiaomi finally launched its Mi Max 2 in India today.
The phone targets a particular category of users who want a big screen. It is a great substitute of the conventional 7-inch tablets and is backed by a huge battery life.
The phablet is equipped with a 6.44 Inch IPS FHD display with 2.5D curved glass on top protected by the Corning Gorilla Glass 4. It is powered by a Snapdragon 625 chipset clocked at 2GHz which is very efficient in terms of usage. Just like the screen, the 5300 mAh battery is kinda big and will manage to last for two days easily. The Indian version comes with 4GB of RAM coupled with 64GB of internal storage. All the key sensors and features are available on this phone.
Another highlight of this phone is its camera. It comes with a 12MP rear camera with Sony IMX 386 sensor which performs much better than the other Xiaomi phones in the mid range segment. Along with that comes the 5MP front camera so that you can capture beautiful selfies any time! A subtle change in the design can also be noticed.
The Mi Max 2 will be up for grab on July 20, and July 21 from 10 am on all major e-commerce channels through its flash sale model. Open sales will start from July 27th, and it will then be available in offline stores too including Xiaomi’s own Mi Home and several other partners. You can buy the smartphone at a price point of Rs. 16,999. As of now, it will come in only matte Black color and 64GB inbuilt storage variant. It is priced at Rs. 16,999 and seems to be a great buy if you want something huge along with superior performance. The 128GB internal storage variant has not been launched in India. Furthermore, Xiaomi has partnered with Jio, so every Mi Max 2 user will get an addition 100GB Jio data.
