Last year didn’t seem to be a good one for Samsung due to its infamous Galaxy Note 7 due to the phone blast cases reported by a few users. Samsung accepted their mistake and recalled all the fire-plagued Note 7s from its users. The same cost about $5.4 Billions in operating profit. But the company didn’t stop there. The company has no intention to discontinue the Note brand and are soon going to add a new member to the Note lineup, the Galaxy Note 8. And we need not wait for long. According to Reuters’s report, Samsung has plans to launch the device in the second half of August. Korean media also claimed that the device would me launched in the mid-August.
The leaks and rumors suggest that the smartphone will have a dual-curved edge display- yet another Infinity display design, slightly larger than the one in S8+. It will also have a dual rear camera setup as seen in the iPhone 7 Plus. The company was said to be testing the dual camera setup for Galaxy S8 as well but somehow decided to go with a single camera only. Hopefully, this won’t be a case with the Note 8.
However, one big disappointment will be the fingerprint sensor.
Samsung and Apple, both were said to be working on a new design and ship smartphones with a fingerprint sensor embedded under the display itself. But, both the companies are likely to launch their next smartphone with a typical fingerprint sensor itself. On the other hand, Apple may drop the physical Home Button entirely from its iPhone 8 and make the display bleed to the very edge.
We all will look forward to what Note 8 has to offer and will keep you updated with best possible information about the device.
