We all have been waiting for long for the release of the Essential Phone by Andy Rubin, the man behind the existence of the Android. Even the company is eager to show off their first ever device. However, the company has to face some seriously bad press regarding the repeated delay in the launch.
Now, after a delay of about 2 months, the company is now all set to reveal their PH-1 smartphone and is holding a first look event on August 25, 2017 to reveal the information about the device, in Los Angeles, followed by an initial discovery event later, to let the consumers feel the device on their palms for the first time.
The event invites are restricted to a few people in Los Angeles, Droidlife reported. Not everyone has got the invitation.
Just a couple of days ago, Andry Rubin, in a tweet, stated the phone is in mass production and will be hitting the market very soon. Further information about its availability will be revealed the following week.
The pricing mentioned earlier was $699 for the smartphone alone and $898 along with the 360-degree camera module launched alongside the device. I assume that the pricing won’t change due to the delay caused by the company.
The Essential smartphone will come with a 5.7 inch QHD display with an aspect ratio of 19:10 leaving minimal bezel at the bottom. As for the camera, it boasts a dual rear camera setup of 13MP Dual RGB + Monochrome sensors along with an LED flash. The camera is capable to record videos in 4K resolution. The front facing camera has an 8MP sensor and too can record videos at 4K resolution.
